Going into this match AC Milan knew that if they won they would secure their lead at the top and be first place at the half way point of the season. However it would be a tough task against a Atalanta team that always seems to be at their best when they play Milan. To start the match Milan played on fire getting multiple scoring chances within the first 5 minutes. After the first 5 minutes, Atalanta started to take possession of the match and completely dominated play. In the 26th minute Atlanta got their first break through as Romero got a header past Donnarumma. Atalanta continued to dominate play and the Rossoneri didn't have an answer for anything Atalanta threw at them. At the half Milan were down a goal.

Nothing changed at all in the second half and Milan actually looked worse at times. Minutes into the second half Franck Kessie committed a silly foul that led to an Atalanta penalty kick. Josip Llicic stepped up and scored to put Atalanta up 2 goals. Atalanta continued to attack and Milan could do nothing about it as Atalanta had chance after chance. Atalanta broke through again and scored in the 77th minute to finally put the game away. After the 90 minutes was up Atalanta won by a score of 3-0.

Gianluigi Donnarumma: Not much to complain about for Gigio. Maybe he could have saved the penalty but other than that he was fine. 6/10

Davide Calabria: Davide struggled to mark and defend Zapata. Covering Zapata is a tough task and Davide really let Duvan get the best of him. 5.5/10

Simon Kjaer: Kjaer was one of the more solid defenders in this match. I thought he performed well in most cases but did have his own struggles at points in the match. 6/10

Pierre Kalulu: Kalulu played very well until the first Atalanta goal and he was at fault for that goal. He did get injured but let’s hope it isn't that serious. 5.9/10

Theo Hernandez: Theo looked very very poor in this match. He didn't track back on defence much and those amazing runs we are accustomed to seeing just weren't there, many of those runs amounted to nothing. 5/10

Franck Kessie: Kessie was overwhelmed in the midfield and he committed a very silly penalty that gave Atalanta a 2 goal lead. In the past couple of matches Kessie hasn't looked the best. 5.5/10

Sandro Tonali: Like Kessie, Tonali was overwhelmed in the midfield. He wasn't distributing the ball to the attack and this left many attacking players isolated. 5.5/10

Samu Castillejo: Having Samu start is becoming a problem. He just doesn't bring anything to the team. 5/10

Soualiho Meite: This was a bold strategy putting Meite at attacking mid and ultimately it didn't workout. He was poor in possession and when he did get a pass off it was inaccurate. 5/10

Rafael Leao: Leao was great for the opening of the match but from that point on he was like a ghost. I don't fully blame him because every other Milan attacker was put in a similar scenario. 5.5/10

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Zlatan was also isolated in the attack as no balls could get up to him. He had a few chances early on but failed to capitalize. 5.5/10

Brahim Diaz: Funnily enough I thought Brahim had some decent moments, nothing spectacular but it was clear that the offence came more alive with him in the attack. 6/10

Mateo Musacchio: Musacchio came on because they didn't want to throw Tomori into the fire. Mateo was fine he made a few blunders but at this point we are used to that. 5.5/10

Mario Mandzukic: Nothing of note from Mario but it is clear that he has some legs left. 6/10

Ante Rebic: I’m not sure what is wrong with Ante but when he was playing it seemed like he forgot how to play with the ball at his feet. Not too sure if he is ready to play a full 90 just yet. 5.5/10
