AC Milan via their website have officially announce the signing of French midfielder Soualiho Meite from Torino on a six month loan deal with an option to buy. The midfielder has played extensively in France with the likes of AJ Auxerre, LOSC Lille, AS Monaco and FC Bordeaux before moving to the Serie A. Meite has played in Italy for two and a half years now in Turin where he has registered 94 appearances, scoring 3 goals and providing 7 assists across all competitions.
The 26 year old will play in the midfield most likely as a rotation for Franck Kessie alongside Sandro Tonali or Ismael Bennacer. The midfielder has not been capped by the French national side yet but has played across the youth setup with caps from the U20, U19 and U17. Meite is the first signing for Milan in the winter transfer window and will wear the shirt number 18.
MilanNews.it are reporting that Meite completed his medicals yesterday and even took part in a session at Milanello. He is expected to start training today and will likely be called up for the Cagliari game and may make an appearance off the bench.
