Tuttosport via MilanNews.it are reporting that Mohamed Simakan remains the top priority for AC Milan in the winter transfer window but could consider alternatives given the complicated negotiations and the injury of the player.
Sempre Milan interviewed the agent of Simakan who is downplaying the injury but is stating that his client will leave Strasbourg in this transfer window.
RC Strasbourg via their website have announced that Simakan picked up an injury in the game against Lens and will require an arthroscopy which will rule him out for about two months. This injury could jeopardise his move to Milan as the club needs an immediate addition to the defence to reinforce the squad to keep up the title race.
Max Bielefeld of Sky Germany is reporting that Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach are both entering the race for Simakan but would look to sign him in the summer.
Calcio Mercato are now reporting that Milan could thus be encouraged to switch their focus to alternates such as Schalke 04's Ozan Kabak, Chelsea's Fikayo Tomori or even RC Lens’ Loic Bade.
