AC Milan have announced via their website that centre back Leo Duarte has left the club on a year and a half loan to Istanvul Basaksehir with an option to buy until the summer of 2022. The defender who was brought to Milan by Leonardo from Flamengo has struggled with injuries and never really broken into the first team. Recently, he was overlooked in favour of youngster Pierre Kalulu which makes this move a good choice for all parties.
Gianluca di Marzio had already reported that Duarte had already cleared out of Milanello and was in Turkey this past weekend to finalise the switch.
Since joining Milan in the summer transfer window of 2019, the defender has only played 9 games over a season and a half. He has only played the full 90 minutes once this season. He has not featured in the league since Matchday 1 when he came off the bench for the final 18 minutes.
