AC Milan will be on the road for their first Coppa Italia tie taking on Torino who they beat 2-0 over the weekend in Serie A. Milan need a strong performance to kick off this campaign as the Coppa should be a piece of silverware targeted this season. Milan will likely heavily rotate as Stefano Pioli look to ensure his squad is fit for the upcoming games against Cagliari and Atalanta to hit the midway point of the Serie A season. Torino will likely be out for blood to regain some fire after their dull performance last time out.

Players to Watch

Simone Verdi

Simone Verdi was easily the most potent threat in the previous tie as Andrea Belotti seemed to fade into anonymity hounded by Simon Kjaer outside the box. Verdi has a wicked long shot and he demonstrated how dangerous he can be. His dynamic movement will be difficult for either Musacchio or Kalulu to deal with hence he is the player who can make this difficult for Milan.

Brahim Diaz

As with my last preview, I still believe Diaz will make the difference for Milan again. Last time out, he provided the assist for the first goal and won the penalty for the second goal. I can see him picking up an assist again but his true power lies in being able to draw defenders in and away from the attackers creating space to be exploited. He is incredible with the ball at his feet and will be crucial to a smooth game tonight.

Ciprian Tatarusanu

Tatarusanu has had his ups and downs with Milan thus far, his rough start was followed by some incredible saves in the Europa League demonstrating that he can hold his own. The keeper will be critical in a game that could feature target man Belotti, journeyman Zaza and wild card Verdi. Each is a credible threat and Torino tend to score messy goals, he will need to keep on his toes to ensure we do not concede early.

Prediction: Torino 1 - 2 Milan
