MilanNews.it are reporting that AC Milan could now make a serious bid for Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare as the talks for Tiemoue Bakayoko grind to a halt as Chelsea refuse to budge on the amount for the buy out clause. The value of Soumare is comparable to the current asking price for Bakayoko yet he is five years younger and would therefore be a more sound investment. Soumare was largely ruled out given the arrival of Sandro Tonali as well as his high price tag but Stefano Pioli seems adamant on adding one more strong midfielder to develop perhaps one of the top midfield rotations in Italy next season. Milan have worked with Lille recently on the transfers of Rafael Leao and Tiago Djalo thus have a good understanding of each other which could help this deal.
In another report MilanNews.it are stating that Soumare is the first alternative to Bakayoko and the signing could be seriously considered now. Soumare made 30 appearances last season as a defensive midfielder at just 21 years old. He seems quite promising and could end up being a good option this summer and for the future.
