Calcio Mercato are reporting that AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli has asked the management to sign four more players to complete the summer reinforcement for the squad. Pioli reportedly asked Maldini and Massara for nine additions to the squad to add quality and depth to the side and a number of these have been confirmed thus far. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Simon Kjaer, Alexis Saelemaekers and Brahim Diaz have been confirmed. Sandro Tonali is expected to be closed in the coming week. So that’s five out of the nine done.

Outside of this, the right back department needs to be addressed as one of Andrea Conti or Davide Calabria needs to leave to make space for an arrival that adds quality. A top quality centre back is still a priority that is need to partner with Alessio Romagnoli however again one of Leo Duarte or Mateo Musacchio must leave first. A back up goalkeeper for Gianluigi Donnarumma is needed especially for the Europa League fixtures. Finally, Pioli wants one more central midfielder to add depth and experience; Bakayoko has been earmarked for this role but negotiations have been dragged out for a while now.

Let’s see how the mercato progresses and if Maldini and Massara come through.
