MilanNews.it are reporting that the centre back chase is paramount for AC Milan although the budget is slightly limited for the moment. Milan are reportedly looking for a potential starter who could compete with Simon Kjaer and Alessio Romagnoli for the starting spot. The top name remains Wesley Fofana of St Etienne but Matija Nastasic from Schalke 04 is the back up name. Kristoffer Ajer from Celtic FC seems to be fading.

Pietro Mazzara for MilanNews.it also notes that the investment for Fofana would be one for the future as the defender is expected to be able to play at the top level for perhaps the next 10 or so years. The report notes the player has been watched my Milan scouts for a while and that an investment could be undertaken if Paqueta is sold.

Milan have already made some offers for the player which have not been accepted. He was set to join Leicester City but there has not been movement on that front. Simone Cristao is reporting that Milan will submit a final offer for the 19 year old to attempt to sway St Etienne which will be a paid loan with an obligation to buy.
