The midfielder is clearly out of the plans for the season.

L’Equipe are reporting that Lyon have submitted their first offer for AC Milan midfielder Lucas Paqueta but it has been turned down by the Rossoneri management. The Brazil international has fallen out of favour under Stefano Pioli resulting in his exclusion from the squad in key games in recent weeks especially given the injury/illness crisis. The initial offer from Lyon is a year long loan with an option to buy for 18 million euros.

Milan have reportedly turned this down as they want the buy out option to be an obligation. There are no comments at the moment on the further reduced asking price which has dropped from 22-23 million euros for the midfielder. Lyon are expected to submit a new improved bid as they are interested in the player. We should expect a slightly higher buy out sum and potentially an obligation. This sale is key to Milan's ability to acquire a few more key signings at the end of the transfer window in a few weeks.
