Gianluca di Marzio via MilanLive.it is reporting that AC Milan have initiated contacts for defender Matija Nastasic from Schalke 04 as the talks for Nikola Milenkovic seem to be unsuccessful as Fiorentina do not intend to sell this summer. The player is represented by Fali Ramadani who represents Milenkovic and Rebic thus could help push the deal through based off his good relationship with Milan. Milan will reportedly attempt a loan offer with an option to buy as they have done with Sandro Tonali.
Lucas Marchetti via MilanNews.it is reporting that a new central defender will only arrive if midfielder Lucas Paqueta is sold first as that money would be reinvested into someone like Nastasic or Fofana or Simakan.
Nastasic was a previous Milan target a number of years ago but has since exited the limelight due to a number of tough years at Schalke as both the club and player have struggled. Most recently, the Serbia international has struggled with a knee injury.
