Bayern Munich have announced via Sempre Milan the signing of AC Milan primavera defender Lenny Borges on loan for the upcoming season. The defender will play the 2020/21 campaign in Germany for the second team of the league champions in the 3. Liga (the equivalent of Serie C). The 19 year old defender joined Milan in 2019 from Hamburg where he was an academy product but struggled with the youth side in Milan due to recurring injuries that kept his benched for the majority of the season under coach Federico Giunti.

Surprisingly, the contract of the youngster with Milan runs until the summer of 2021, hence the effectively allows him to leave for free at the end of the season. It is not clear is this will be renewed or if Milan do not wish to proceed with the development of the youngster due to his limited displays in the past year. He played 5 of the opening 8 games of the season as a right back but thereafter missed the remaining 11 games of the season.
