ANSA via MilanNews.it are reporting that Lombardy have given clearance for up to 1,000 fans to attend sports games in outdoor arenas. This means that there will be fans present at AC Milan's season opener against Bologna at the San Siro tonight. The club will reportedly welcome fans back to the stadium after seven months due to the coronavirus pandemic. As reported by Antonio Vitiello, that the ordinance signed by the president of the Lombardy region allowed for this to be a possibility. Stefano Pioli's men will take to the field just over a month and a half since the completion of the 2019/20 season.

The report notes that the club will invite doctors and health workers from various medical facilities in the Lombardy region as a sign of gratitude for their efforts in the fight against COVID-19. The tickets will reportedly be distributed to the family members of players, to health workers, the club's health staff, club affiliates and special guests.
