Daniele Longo is reporting that Lyon are very serious about acquiring AC Milan outcast Lucas Paqueta as they consider him a priority. He is noting that the talks are morphing into a negotiation but there is no word yet on the type of deal nor the valuations. He notably mentions that Paqueta is open to a move away from the San Siro.

Paqueta was surprisingly left off the squad travelling to Dublin for the Europa League clash with Shamrock Rovers despite all the opportunities in the pre-season matches. Vito Angele is reporting that this was a technical choice of Stefano Pioli as the coach is not satisfied with the player's performance in training and the club wants to push him onto the market.

Antonio Vitiello confirmed that the decision not to include Paqueta was a technical one and not based on an injury. This is a strong indicator that the is on his way out as a number of youngsters such as Maldini and new signings such as Diaz were picked over him for the tie.

Telefoot via MilanNews.it are reporting that Lyon are close to selling their prized possession Houssem Aouar to Arsenal and could use that money to sign Paqueta as a replacement for the attacking midfielder.

L’Equipe are reporting that if two of the following three players are sold by Lyon, then they will move in for Paqueta: Jeff Reine-Adelaide, Houssem Aouar or Memphis Depay. The report notes that Milan will ask for between 22-25 million euros for the midfielder.
