MilanNews.it are reporting that AC Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli has not fully recovered from the injury sustained toward the end of the previous season. As per the report, the defender could return toward the end of the month which means he will likely miss at least the first two Serie A games and a game or two in the Europa League.
Milanlive.it are reporting that Romagnoli has been in a personalised training regime since returning to the squad for the pre-season. He is yet to train as part of the group and this makes it quite unlikely to return this month.
The defence looks very thin without Romagnoli as Simon Kjaer, Leo Duarte and Matteo Gabbia become the likely starters for the first couple of games. Stefano Pioli has commented on the need for defensive reinforcements as we reported here as he is also missing Mateo Musacchio and Andrea Conti to injury.
