MilanNews.it are reporting that AC Milan are in negotiations for renewal of trequartista Hakan Calhanoglu as he enters the final year of his contract. The Turkey international joined the club from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2017 and currently earns 2.5 million euros per year. The midfielder had a very good second half of the season where he was one of the key protagonists that helped Milan go on an 12 game unbeaten run in the league. He scored 11 goals and provided 9 assists in all competitions this season.
The contacts between his agent Gordon Stipic and Milan have been ongoing and the report notes that he is set for an improved contract worth 3 million euros per year net. There are reports of bonuses to be included contingent on the Scudetto and Champions League places. There is no word on the inclusion of a release clause.
