Tutto Sport via MilanNews.it are reporting that AC Milan could attempt to keep Giacomo Bonaventura with a short extension of one year as a depth player. The midfielder may have played his last game at the San Siro as his contract expired this summer after marshalling the club through one of it's darkest periods. The fan favourite registered 35 goals in his 6 seasons with the club and won the Supercoppa Italiana in 2016.
The report notes that both Paolo Maldini and Stefano Pioli consider Jack to be a key player and consider him to be useful for the upcoming season. The report goes on to add that the player does not want to leave and would be willing to take a pay cut to remain at the club. He currently earns 2.5 million euro per season and could accept an offer of 2 million.
Bonaventura on Instagram does seem to suggest that he will leave the club as he has sent a thank you message to the club, it's management, players and fans.
