Fabrizio Romano on Calcio Mercato is reporting that AC Milan are concentrating their defensive search on Fiorentina youngster Nikola Milenkovic as Stefno Pioli knows him well. The report notes that there are daily talks with his agent Fali Ramadani despite the high valuation held by Rocco Commisso for the Serbia international at 40 million euros. Milan want to include Lucas Paqueta in the operation but this is currently being turned down.
Romano is adding that Milan alongside Arsenal are seriously considering RB Leipzig centre back Dayot Upamecano to be a concrete addition to the squad but have been slightly dissuaded by his contract renewal this summer. The defender does have a 42 million euro release clause valid from 2021 which would be enticing given the state of the market for quality defenders.
