Pietro Mazzara of MilanNews.it is reporting that AC Milan will likely have to negotiate and sign a settlement agreement with UEFA over Financial Fair Play in 2021. The report notes that Milan will end the 2019/20 financial year with losses of about 100 million euros down from 146 million euros in 2018/19. The years of 2019/20 and 2020/21 will be merged for UEFA to account for the complications created by the coronavirus pandemic.

Milan enter the purview of UEFA again as they qualified for the Europa League next season but will need to enter the competition through the qualification round. The report notes that Milan are aggressively working on two avenues to strengthen their financial position: to reduce costs and to increase revenues. This is through trimming the wage bill for the former and increasing sponsorships for the latter. The report notes that UEFA will look favourably on the improvement seen over the past year.
