AC Milan via their website are reporting that right back Andrea Conti underwent keyhole surgery to resolve a lingering issue with his medial meniscus. The former Atalanta man has struggled for fitness at the club since joining in the 2017/18 season only managing 46 appearances across his first three seasons.

Conti picked up an injury during the Sassuolo game and had a been suffering from a persistent pain in his left knee. He and Davide Calabria have fought over the RB position all season but both have been rather underwhelming.

Conti on his Instagram noted that it was a minor routine operation and says he will be ready to join his teammates on the 24th of August to kick off the new season.
