The airline and the club are signing their second renewal deal since joining forces as shirt sponsor in 2010.

AC Milan - Emirates

AC Milan via their website have officially confirmed the renewal of their partnership deal with Emirates airlines until the summer of 2023. The three year deal will extend the partnership between the club and airline as the shirt sponsor to a total of 13 years together making them the longest shirt sponsor in the club's history edging out Opel who were sponsors for 12 years. The press release notes that the club's have been partners for 17 years.

Emirates will be a Principal Partner, on the senior men’s team shirt, the youth team's shirts, the Rossoneri Academy and Official Airline Partner of AC Milan. The new deal however allows Milan to find additional partners/sponsors (even Principal sponsors) who can be featured on the first team's shirt sleeve, training kit and women’s team shirts for the first time ever.

AC Milan are expected to feature a new sponsor, ‘Emirates: Fly Better’ moving away from the 'Fly Emirates’ which the side have worn on a number of ocassions in the past two years.

Simone Cristao of Radio Rossonera is reporting that the deal is about 15% lower than the previous agreement to allow for the additional sponsors but Milan stand to gain increased revenue from the multiple sponsors. As we reported here previously, this was expected in the new deal and there could be performance related bonuses.

Milan's Chief Revenue Officer, Casper Stylsvig said: “We are thrilled to announce a 3-year extension to our relationship with Emirates, one that has truly stood the test of time. This renewal is a testament to the value both parties have brought to the table throughout this long term and collaborative partnership. The partnership of these two brands, with such strong international visibility, is an extremely powerful one. We are delighted to support Emirates in showcasing the excellence and quality of their experience all over the world. Coming out of a global pandemic, our new deal with Emirates has also allowed the club to redefine its partnership strategy, providing an increased sponsorship inventory and therefore greater potential for further commercial partners moving forwards.”
