MilanNews.it are reporting that alongside Gianluigi Donnarumma and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, AC Milan are determined to renew the contract of attacking midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu. The former Bayer Leverkusen man has taken up the trequartista role since Milan shifted from a 4-3-3 to a 4-2-3-1 and has thrived with the increased freedom. He has 10 goals and 8 assists in all competitions this season. Calhanoglu contract currently runs until the summer of 2021 and he earns 2.5 million euros per year net.
Sky Italia via MilanNews.it are reporting that a deal is close as Milan met with agent Gordon Stipic to get the talks underway. The Turkey international is happy at the club and open to the renewal. There is expected to be a release clause or a termination clause in the contract to allow the player the opportunity to leave if Milan do not attain the desired results in the years ahead.
