Calcio Mercato are reporting that AC Milan's manager Stefano Pioli has asked the club to renew the deal of long term midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura after his impactful displays since the resumption of Serie A. The manager makes the request about a week after his deal was extended, he seems to want to keep hold of a number of veterans in Simon Kjaer, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and now Bonaventura.

What do you think? keep him or not? pic.twitter.com/5g2eftfsCv
The 31 year old has been at the club since 2014/15 raking up 182 appearances where he scored 35 goals and provided 28 assists from the midfield. He is a fan favourite and has been impressive off the bench in recent weeks after coming back from a long period on the treatment table. The report notes that the stumbling block is the economic component requested by Mino Raiola which is claimed to be 3 million euros net (a 1 million increase). This seems unlikely especially given he will be largely on the bench but a resolution is expected as the player is happy at the club.
