AC Milan have announced via their website that the club has taken up their option to buy right winger Alexis Saelemaekers from RSC Anderlecht. As we reported here, this option was being considered by the management last week. The Belgian joined on a loan costing 3.5 million for 6 months with an option to buy permanently for an additional 3.5 million. Milan have signed the winger on a 4 year contract until June 2024.

The total cost of the operation for the winger is about 7 million euros. Saelemaekers is now Stefano Pioli's go-to option off the bench since the resumption of football in Italy and has garnered 6 appearances in all competitions totalling 102 minutes of football all off the bench. Saelemaekers is a versatile right winger who can be fielded as a right back. He becomes Milan's first official signing for the summer of 2020.
