Giorgia Spinelli’s signing was the first announcement of the day. The defender plied her trade in Stade de Reims in France before moving to Milan.
The Italy international is quite versatile as she can play as a centre-back or fill in on the flanks as a left-back.
Her versatility will give Milan many options going forward, as her presence will allow the team to try out several different formations. With Spinelli, the team can consider playing three at the back, or using her in their current 4-3-1-2 system.
Spinelli will also provide much-needed relief to starting left-back, Linda Tucceri Cimini, as well.
Caroline Rask

The second signing is midfielder Caroline Rask. The midfielder comes to us from Fortuna Hjørring in Denmark.
The Danish international has played a total of sixty games for the team and has scored one goal for them. She has also made four appearances for the team in the Champions League.
The midfielder also has international experience, as she has played for Denmark for the U17s, U19s, and at the senior level as well.
She’ll bring much-needed experience and energy to the midfield, and is a welcome upgrade to it.
Christy Grimshaw

The final signing of the day is Christy Grimshaw.
Grimshaw is a Scottish player who has traversed the globe. She comes to Milan from FC Metz in France where she played in the Division 1 Féminine (which is considered by many to be the best women’s league in Europe).
Grimshaw also has experience playing in the US, as she previously captained the women’s soccer team at Barry University in Miami.
A report on the player described her as “the engine of the team” who “controls the game through the midfield”. She can also serve as a play-maker or find the goal herself. Grimshaw is also described as a “great team leader” who is a stalwart both offensively and defensively.
Milan has signed a total of six players so far this window. The players are Natasha Dowie, Laura Agard, Selena Babb, Giorgia Spinelli, Caroline Rask, and Christy Grimshaw.
All six players will be welcome upgrades to Milan’s current roster and will allow the team to be more competitive next season.
They are the first of several players that will come to the Milan Women as they reinforce their squad in preparation for next season.
And if you think that Milan are done, then you are mistaken. They are just getting started.
Look for more new signings to be announced within the upcoming days.
