Mundo Deportivo via MilanNews.it are reporting that AC Milan contacted Barcelona over a possible move for their right back Emerson who is on loan at Real Betis for two seasons. The 21 year old defender has played 32 games scoring 3 goals and providing 5 assists in all competitions. His reported value is between 20-25 million euros.
Simone Cristao is reporting that the deal is complicated for two reasons:
- The player is co-owned by Barcelona and Betis.
- Barcelona want an outright sale with a buyback option whilst Milan want a loan with an option to buy.
Tutto Mercato Web via MilanNews.it note that the defender's value will be inflated by about 10 million euros as Betis are supposed to receive 50% of any future resale. Thus the player will likely be able to leave for about 25-30 million euros and Barcelona would have to terminate his loan early.
Nicolo Schira notes that Betis will need to be paid 6 million for Barcelona to end the loan early with 3 million in development fees and 3 million in early termination fees. He also confirms that Betis are entitled to 50% of future sale fees.
The reports on this deal have been gathering steam but this seems like a very difficult move and an expensive one for Milan especially considering Milan have already signed Kalulu. The transfer for Dumfries seems more straightforward and cheaper than this for the moment.
