Bild journalist Christian Kynast spoke to MilanNews.it exclusively on Ralf Rangnick to AC Milan, his potential targets and what to expect. (Translations via Sempre Milan).
On Rangnick: “I think Rangnick would be perfect for Milan. He has a lot of experience and knows how to bring a club to success. In addition, Rangnick is known for his great ability to bring unripe talents to be top established players.
“This could be the right strategy for Milan to compete with clubs like Juventus that, financially speaking, have a different budget than the Rossoneri.
“Rangnick’s game is based on very fast counter-attacks and great speed so his football is undoubtedly a lot of fun to watch. His teams do not usually dominate the opponent but take advantage of the mistakes to go to the shooting quickly and punish without mercy ”
On bringing players from RB Leipzig or RB Salzburg: “I think Rangnick probably has some hesitation in buying Leipzig players. However, he knows which players the two clubs are viewing and this could be an advantage and therefore could ‘parade’ some talents followed by Leipzig and Salzburg. Also, I absolutely don’t rule out that Rangnick tries to buy some Salzburg players instead.”
On Milot Rashica from Werder Bremen: “Rashica is a great talent and Leipzig are in pole position to buy it. He is a very expensive player, in fact Werder Bremen are asking for 20 million for the player. If Milan intend to pay this amount, it would have a great chance to buy it.”
On Patrick Schick from RB Leipzig: “Leipzig would like to negotiate another loan but Roma want to sell permanently. The German club are unable to spend 20 million, or the amount requested by the Giallorossi but if the price were to drop then Leipzig would buy it without any doubt ”
On Rangnick's staff: “Rangnick will surely bring trusted members of his previous staff. The names depend on whether he will be able to free some of them from the contracts they have with some Bundesliga companies. ”
On Zlatan Ibrahimovic staying: “I think that dealing with Ibrahimovic could be difficult for Rangnick because the German has never trained players with great personalities like Ibrahimovic who is a superstar.”
