Manuel del Vecchio via MilanNews.it is reporting that AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli is stumped and testing out three different formations for the Coppa Italia clash against Juventus next week. The manager is in a difficult situation as he must manage the rumours around his successor, the club's shaky management and a number of suspensions and injures ahead of a crucial game that could change the Rossoneri's season.
The three options are as follows:
4-2-3-1 - The defence will likely feature Romagnoli and Kjaer at centre back, Conti at right back and either Calabria or Laxalt at left back. The midfield anchors will be Kessie and Bennacer. The attacking midfielders will be Rebic, Calhanoglu and Bonaventura. Leao is expected to start at the lone striker.
4-3-3 - Bonaventura and Rebic will play on the wings flanking Leao. Calhanoglu, Bennacer and Kessie will occupy the midfield spots.
4-3-1-2 - This variations sees a packed midfield will Kessie, Bennacer and Bonaventura holding back. Calhanoglu playing as a trequartista and a Rebic-Leao duo up front.
As a reminder, Ibrahimovic, Hernandez and Castillejo are suspended for this game. Milan and Juventus are currently at 1-1 on aggregate.
