Nicolo Schira on Twitter is reporting that AC Milan are in talks to bring back Tiemoue Bakyoko to the club from Chelsea after his year on loan at Monaco. The 25 year old midfielder spent the 2018/19 season on loan at the club where he flourished but his 35 million euro buyout option was not exercised. Schira is reporting that Chelsea will ask for about 20-25 million euros for the midfielder who has been a strain on their books since he cost about 40 million euros with a wage of 6.5 million per year and signed for 5 years.
#ACMilan are in talks for Timo #Bakayoko’s return. #Chelsea ask €20-25M to sell him on a permanent deal. His wage are too high (€6,5M a year until 2022), but Milan are working to spread his salary on 4-years contract (€4M a year). #transfers #CFC

The report indicates that his wages are a major stumbling block but that Milan are working to spread his salary across a longer contract and will look to offer a 4 million a year deal. This oddly goes against Gazidis plan for a 2.5 million wage cap but some exceptions seem likely given the context. Previous reports that we covered here suggested that Milan will likely ask for another loan deal with an option to buy.
