Former AC Milan President Silvio Berlusconi spoke to TeleLombardia via Calcio Mercato as his side AC Monza were promoted to Serie B for the first time since 2000/01. The former Italy PM bought the club in September 2018 when they were in Serie C and led them to the Serie C title this season in Group A and promotion to the Serie B as the season was ended early due to the coronavirus pandemic. The club is being coached by former Milan defender and manager Cristian Brocchi.

Berlusconi has admitted that he would want Daniel Maldini to join his side next season. Maldini has been very impressive this season in the Primavera 2 as the Rossoneri won the title and earned promotion. He plays as an attacking midfielder where he has scored 9 goals and provided 5 assists in all competitions. On signing him he said, “We hope so, we hope he’ll prove himself as a talented young lad.” The youngster also made his senior debut coming off the bench in the Serie A and signed a professional contract with the club until 2024.
