Football Italia are reporting that AC Milan defender Mateo Musacchio is eager to renew his contract with the Rossoneri as per his agent. The centre back has struggled to establish himself as the long term partner for Alessio Romagnoli and has been replaced by Leonardo Bonucci and Simon Kjaer in the starting line ups over the past three seasons. The defender arrived with a lot of promise from Villareal but has not lived up to the hype due to his error prone nature and silly mistakes.

As we reported here, Valencia and Sevilla are tracking the defender for a return to Spain after his stint in Milan. He has a contract until 2021 with the Rossoneri and has managed 73 appearances thus far. His agent is saying, “We spoke to Maldini recently and got positive sensations from the conversation.”

“Mateo is admired by the club and the coach too. We’d like to receive a new contract proposal, because Mateo is happy at Milan. Obviously, we’ll have to see which directors we are dealing with in August, but the desire would be to stay here.”
