Gianluca di Marzio is reporting AC Milan attempted to sign Hertha Berlin midfielder Lazar Samardzic in the January transfer window as part of the deal for Krzysztof Piatek. The Germany U-19 international has had a sensational season for Hertha's youth squad where he has scored 16 goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions.

The youngster managed to get his Bundesliga debut last week in the derby against Union Berlin where his side ran riot winning 4-0. Calcio Mercato are reporting that Milan are weighing up a move for the youngster in the summer. He would definitely be a prospect who is unlikely to start right away but has been extremely promising.
