The FIGC has confirmed that Serie A, B and C are expected to complete the 2019/20 season. The council has set a date for the 20th of August for the conclusion of the league and the 31st of August for the completion of the Coppa Italia. The 2020/21 campaign would thus begin on the 1st of September 2020. A meeting with the Minister of Sport on the 28th of May will finally decide on whether Serie A can resume or not.

Football Italia are reporting that in the event that any further delays are presented hampering the completion of the remaining games there will be an alternative as follows. “The planned revision is described as ‘a short playoff and playout stage’, involving the teams competing for top spots and those fighting to avoid relegation in A, B and C.”
