Another report has emerged from French outlet RMC Sport indicating that AC Milan tried to acquire Strasbourg centre back Mohamed Simakan in the January transfer window but failed. The expectation is for Milan to go back in for the move at about 15 million euros. The young centre back has been a regular starter for the Ligue 1 side this season and is being watched by numerous clubs. He has 25 appearances this season and kept 9 clean sheets. More importantly, the 19 year old has been effectively alternating between right back and centre back hence could be a versatile addition to Milan’s defence.

19 years of age. One of the most underrated young defenders in Europe. He is having a great season for Strasbourg.
Strong, fast, versatile, and very good on the ball. Complete centre-back.

The youngster is averaging 3.2 tackles, 1.9 interceptions and 2.4 aerial clearances won per 90 minutes according to FTalentScout. The defender’s agent stated recently: “In this very complicated context, talking about transfer is not a priority, but it is obvious that opportunities exist for Mohamed. Leaving is an option. But first there is a season to end, then we will make a point with the company.”
