Gianluca di Marzio is reporting that Ivan Gazidis will run another coup in the AC Milan management purging the Sporting Directors Zvonimir Boban, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara in the coming days. The CEO is vehemently pursuing Ralf Rangnick to take over as the manager and sporting director in the summer in a role similar to that of Arsene Wenger at Arsenal under Gazidis. Gazidis is being strengthened by the Elliot group given his personal relationship with the family especially Gordon as we reported on here. Head Scout Geoffrey Moncada and Hendrik Almstadt are set to stay one.

According to di Marzio, “The ownership has also not reacted to the words made by Boban to the Italian newspaper. There will be no meeting to try and hear out the parties, no discussion to try and see if an agreement can be made and if the sides can continue together.” Unfortunately for Milan fans this spells another fresh start and a new rebuild for the nth time. The fans will be frustrated in the summer when the contracts of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Simon Kjaer and other veterans get complicated under the new mode of operation. Moreover, the relationship with Mino Raiola could get sour very quickly as Elliot want to enact a salary cap thus we could see the departures of Gianluigi Donnarumma and Alessio Romagnoli soon.
