AC Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis Is Gearing Up To Impose A €2.5 Million Salary Cap

The CEO is looking to further trim the wage bill and reduce the expenditures of the club.

AC Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis is reportedly ramping up his plans to impose a salary cap on the players beginning this summer. Three players are at a high risk under the new plan. Captain Alessio Romagnoli, Prodigy Gianluigi Donnarumma and Veteran Zlatan Ibrahimovic all earn above the threshold with 3.5m, 6m and 3m respectively. Lucas Biglia and Suso also 3.5m and 3m respectively but the former is expected to run out his contract this summer while the latter will likely join Sevilla permanently in the summer of 2021.

According to MilanLive the change to the wage structure will come into force with the signings this summer and going forward with contract renewals. Gazidis is attempting to reduce the wage bill and a move to sure up the club's finances given the continued under-performance in the league.
