Zlatan Ibrahimovic has donated 100,000 euros to support Humanitas Hospitals during the coronavirus outbreak in Italy. The AC Milan striker has donated the sum and set up an online fundraiser that has raised an additional 50,000 euros in one day. Alessio Romagnoli and Rafael Leao are listed as donors on Ibrahimovic's call to action. The striker released a video on his social media platforms stating his desire to given back to Italy and to stand strong in this time of need. The coronavirus has hit Italy very hard as the country represents the highest infection and fatality rates outside of China, the country has over 2,500 deaths and over 35,000 confirmed cases.

The former Sweden international also gave an uplifting message where he declared, “Let’s kick the Coronavirus away together and win this match!And remember: if the virus don’t go to Zlatan, Zlatan goes to the virus!”
