Fabrizio Romano on Calcio Mercato is reporting that AC Milan will target Uruguay international Matias Vina again after a failed attempt to sign the left back last summer. The defender swapped Club Nacional for Palmeiras in the January transfer window. The youngster has become an instant fan favourite with stunning opening performances. Milan had even submitted an offer of about 8-9 million in total for a loan plus buyout but were turned down.

Given the likelihood of PSV Eindhoven signing Ricardo Rodriguez permanently and Milan selling Diego Laxalt this summer, the club will need a reinforcement at left back. Theo Hernandez has dominated the starting spot all season and has scored a staggering 6 goals to support the attack through their dry spell. He has faced injury and suspension this season thus having a good backup will be paramount going forward. Vina could be a good option as the 22 year old has a huge upside and fits into Elliot’s long term plan.
