Calcio Mercato are reporting that AC Milan find themselves in a tight situation over Brazil international Lucas Paqueta. The midfielder arrived from Flamengo with lots of promise and made a bright start to his Serie A career under Gennaro Gattuso but has fallen out of favour with both Marco Giampaolo and Stefano Pioli since. The fee paid by Milan was about 38 million euros and the club are struggling to recover this given his average performances and the strained market for his services. The 22 year old was reportedly at the centre of a swap deal with Juventus midfielder Bernardeschi in the January transfer window but that did not materialise due to differing valuations as we reported here.

Elliot and the club’s management view the midfielder as a financial strain and huge potential loss. The club is however struggling to offload the midfielder as they are being low-balled on the offers especially by PSG and Flamengo. Leonardo at PSG would be the best bet as he brought in Paqueta to Milan at the time but is only offering 20-22 million implying a major loss for Milan. The midfielder has a contract until 2023 with the club.
