Calcio Mercato are reporting that AC Milan sent scouts to watch Shakhtar Donetsk versus Benfica in the Europa League last week. Milan were observing six players but were focused on former target Taison. The attacking midfielder was close to joining the club in the summer before last minute complications saw Shakhtar veto the deal. Milan were also monitoring right winger Dodo and midfielder Alan Patrick on Shakhtar.

Milan were also watching Benfica centre back Ruben Dias who is a likely long term target to partner Alessio Romagnoli in defence. They were also watching Chiquinho and Rafa Silva. January target Florentino Luis did not feature in the game as he was stuck on the bench but Milan maintain their interest in the young midfielder. The club seems to be ramping up their scouting activity in the past month signalling early preparation for the coming transfer window in the summer.
