After a win on Monday against Torino, Milan now traveled to Florence to play the in form Fiorentina. It took milan some time to settle into this match as Fiorentina came out on the offensive. After Milan settled into the match they had firm control over the opposing side. Milan dominated in possession but not much of their possession led to many scoring chances. Milan had a few chances but only two stood out in the first half. One, was a perfect cross from Castillejo in for Rebic but Rebic couldn't get his head on it. Second, was a beautiful run by Zlatan in which he scored but his goal was denied because of a silly handball. After 45 minutes the score was tied at 0-0.

For much of the second half Milan continued to dominate play with Fiorentina only creating very few chances. Milan domination finally paid off as Ante Rebic continued his hot streak and scored against his former club. After a Fiorentina red card the Milan win looked promising. However, we are Milan and a win is always hard to come by. With only 10 minutes left Fiorentina were award a penalty in which they capitalized on. Milan looked deflated after that and Fiorentina continued to press. Thankfully the match only ended in a 1-1 draw.

Now we will look at the player ratings for AC Milan

Gigio Donnarumma: Aside from the one mistake with his feet in the first half, Gigio played well. Him coming off early in the second half is not a good sign. 6/10

Andrea Conti: In the previous two matches Calabria won the starting job in my opinion but Conti was good today. He made good overlapping runs going forward which helped the Milan attack quite a bit. 6/10

Matteo Gabbia: A good first start for Gabbia. He didn't make many mistakes and at times tried to drive the ball forward. It might be just me but he looks a tad slow on the pitch. 6.5/10

Alessio Romagnoli: Aside from the so called penalty Romagnoli was great in this match. I can't give him a high rating just because of the penalty even if I think that penalty wasn't a good call. 6/10

Theo Hernandez: Theo was back to form against Fiorentina. He was improved defensively today and he made a few nice runs to contribute to the attack. 6.5/10

Ismael Bennacer: Bennacer continues to boss the midfield. He makes great passes and he handles the press with elegance and grace. He still needs to watch his tackling as it seems he picks up a yellow card in every match. 6.5/10

Franck Kessie: Franck the tank is officially back. There is just something so satisfying when Kessie shoves players off the ball. 6.5/10

Hakan Calhanoglu: Calhanoglu stuck out like a sore thumb to me. He had many errant passes that halted the Milan attack in its tracks. Even Zlatan was started to get frustrated with him. 5.5/10

Samu Castillejo: Samu was lively in this match. He was one of the main forces of creativity for Milan as he supplied many crosses for Milan to attack. Samu has definitely turned his Milan career around. 6.5/10

Ante Rebic: Rebic is just scoring every game and nothing can stop him at this point. It is truly a great sight to see. Him and Theo on that left side are a deadly combo. 7/10

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Zlatan had a extremely great individual run but sadly it was disallowed because of a “hand” ball. At times Zlatan looked a bit sluggish and it is possible that playing so many minutes is wearing him out. 6/10

Asmir Begovic: Begovic came on without any real warm up and was tested immediately. Begovic survived just about every test Fiorentina threw at him. He even had a touch on the penalty kick but it just slipped by him. 6/10

Matteo Musacchio: Musacchio hasn't played in a while but he came in ready to play. Thankfully he didn't make a costly mistake but that didn't stop Milan from conceding. 6/10

Alexis Saelemaekers: N/A
