Sempre Milan are reporting that AC Milan have a shortlist of potential managers line up for the coming summer. Stefano Pioli has done an admirable job but is seen more as a option for the current transition period than for a major run at the Top 4. Milan have been linked with a number of managers but two names have stood out, namely Ralf Rangnick and Massimiliano Allegri who would both expect significant investments.
On the other hand, Milan could look to Serie A veterans who have transformed teams and taken them to the next level without significant investment, these are: Simone Inzaghi from Lazio and Luciano Spalletti who was at Inter Milan before his break. The direction of the club will largely dictate what options the club will go for. Another outside bet for the job would be Marcelino who coached Valencia and is currently out of work. Inzaghi seems unlikely given Lazio's current form and Rangnick would imply a huge change in management thus should not be counted on. Marcelino is a wild card given his lack of Serie A experience and his poor form at Valencia. Spalletti is a major possibility given the previous pursuit and the fact that he will be closer to his Inter contract elapsing. The front runner is definitely Allegri as he has the ear of the current management and would be an almost perfect fit. He would be turning down a Premier Leagu job thus it's about a 50/50 toss up but seems the likeliest option.
