After a impressive but disappointing match against Juventus, Milan turned their attention to a league match against Torino. It was evident from the start that the match against Juventus gave Milan confidence as the team looked in control for much of the first half. Milan pressed Torino throughout the half and this led to quick counter attacks that created many chances. For much of the half Milan looked the more dangerous of the two sides with them having firm control of the match. Finally the Milan press worked as Torino gave up the ball in their own half then Lucas Paqueta slipped a nice pass to Samu Castillejo who found Ante Rebic who continued his goal streak in 2020. The press from Milan continued to be effective however, they could not capitalize on another opportunity and the half ended 1-0 for Milan.

The start of the second half was very similar to the first half as Milan dominated play and continued to press. There were a few chances created but neither Samu Castillejo or Zlatan Ibrahimovic could capitalize. With 20 minutes or so left in the match Milan looked drained and Torino started to get their footing. Torino had a couple of chances but the Milan defence held firm. Finally Milan got a clean sheet and a win, overall a great day.

Now we will look at the player ratings for AC Milan

Gigio Donnarumma: Nothing for Gigio to do against Torino. Solid in the shots that he stopped and didn't make any mistakes. 6.5/10

Davide Calabria: In the past two games Calabria has won back the starting job. He was good defensively, his performance dropped a bit in the second half but I still give him credit for a good game. 6.5/10

Simon Kjaer: Kjaer sustained an injury and had to be subbed off right before half, hopefully it isn't too serious. In the minutes that he was in the match however, he was solid. It seems that after the match against Inter Milan his play has stepped up. 6/10

Alessio Romagnoli: Romagnoli is back to being rock solid. He had Andrea Belotti in his pocket for the whole match. 7/10

Theo Hernandez: Theo had a bit of a rough patch but it seems like this game against Torino turned it around. Going forward he was of course bringing pace in the attack but for me he was great on defence in this one. 6.5/10

Ismael Bennacer: The energy that Bennacer brings to this team is just superb. When he signed he told Milan fans that he would die on the pitch for this club and against Torino it seemed like it. He was everywhere on the pitch. 7/10

Franck Kessie: To my shock Kessie has continued to improve alongside Bennacer. However, it still seems that Kessie is hesitant going forward and if he changes that then the Milan attack will benefit in a big way. 6.5/10

Lucas Paqueta: Paqueta was given a golden chance to play behind Zlatan. He had some good moments but also a few bad ones. On the first goal he played a nice ball to Castillejo but on other occasions he gave the ball up too easily. 6/10

Samu Castillejo: As per usual Castillejo didn't stop running for the 90 minutes. He assisted on the first Milan goal which was great but he had a opportunity to put the game away and didn't finish. 6.5/10

Ante Rebic: 2020 is the year of Ante Rebic. This guy just can't stop scoring and it is good to see him finding his role on the team. 6.5/10

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Zlatan has got to start finishing better. He had a golden opportunity but was just a few centimetres off. 6/10

Matteo Gabbia: A debut for the young Italian. Gabbia came on and seemed a tad nervous but eventually calmed down and was solid. Of course there is still room for improvement but a good clean sheet for a debut. 6/10

Jack Bonaventura: It seems as if Jack has struggled to find a place in the team this season. No matter where he is placed he doesn't make as much of a impact anymore. 5.5/10

Rafael Leao: N/A
