Sky Sports are reporting that AC Milan's proposed transfer move for Wigan Athletic's young left back Antonee Robinson has fallen through. The United States international had flown to Milan and undergone his medicals when the deal fell through. There are conflicting reports about what went wrong as Wigan announced that there was a complication related to the medicals tests that required additional checks and could not be completed in time. Outlets in Italy conversely reported that Wigan attempted to change the terms of the deal at the last moment and Milan withdrew from the deal as a result.

The youngster was an Everton youth player and has featured 30 times for Wigan in all competitions this season. This would have been a huge move for the youngster going from the English Championship to the Serie A. As a result of the deal collapsing, Milan recalled their Uruguay international Diego Laxalt from his loan at Torino to play as the back up left back for the rest of the season.
