AC Milan loaned out their left back Diego Laxalt to Torino in the summer as he was deemed to be excess to requirements with Hernandez and Rodriguez on the books. Over the first half of the season, Hernandez took a stronghold on the position and shunned Rodriguez to the bench with the upcoming Euros hence the Switzerland international forced a move away to PSV Eindhoven in search of game time. Milan have now officially confirmed that they have recalled the Uruguay international from Torino to be the back up for Hernandez at left back.

Laxalt made only 5 starts in all competitions this season but came off the bench 13 times including against Milan in the Coppa last week. Laxalt was on the brink of joining Fiorentina on deadline day until he was recalled by the Rossoneri. The left back has a contract with the club in the summer of 2022.
