AC Milan Striker Rafael Leao Breaks Serie A Record Against Sassuolo

Milan's young striker shows why he is such a special prospect providing another gem for his highlight reel.

AC Milan faced Sassuolo in Reggio Emilia this past weekend and came away with an important three points in a 2-1 win. The standout player for Milan was Portugal U21 international Rafael Leao who got the starting spot because Ante Rebic was ruled out of the game. Leao repaid Stefano Pioli's trust by scoring right at the start of the game.

Leao broke a Serie A record and one that tops each of the five major European leagues. Leao has scored the fastest league goal in the history of the tournament with a 6.2 second stunner. Hakan Calhanoglu carried the ball forward from the kick off and played a through ball which Leao picked up to pierce through the defence before placing the ball past Andrea Consigli to open the scoring in record time.

The previous record in Serie A was held by Piacenza's Paolo Poggi who scored a goal in 8 seconds against Fiorentina in 2001.
