MilanNews.it are reporting that AC Milan's Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will change their strategy for the January transfer window as a back up striker is now a critical need. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been an excellent striker but has been dearly missed for extended spells already this season due to COVID, a thigh injury and a muscular injury. He has missed 11 out of 21 games so far this season and will likely miss more before his full return.

Mediaset via MilanNews.it are reporting that Elliot have green lit the signing of a striker. The report adds that they will prefer an investment into a younger profile who can grow as opposed to another veteran.

Stefano Pioli gave the classic response via MilanNews.it:

“If we need a deputy Ibra? If there is a possibility to improve the team, we will do it. It will depend on the opportunities that arise.”

Milan's four strikers in Ibrahimovic, Leao, Rebic and Colombo have scored 15 goals in all competitions this season. Ibrahimovic has scored 11 of the 15.
