AC Milan are currently in the midst of negotiating a new contract for trequartista Hakan Calhanoglu as his deal expires in the summer of 2021. The Turkey international who dons the no. 10 jersey has been an important part of Stefano Pioli's Milan despite his inconsistency at times. He is yet to commit his future to the club with the wage being the sticking point and is reportedly being watched by Manchester United and Juventus on a free transfer.
Sempre Milan interviewed Christian Falk, the BILD journalist who said:
“According to our information, the first talks between Manchester and the entourage of Calhanoglu about a transfer in 2021 already took place this summer. At that time, things were already very advanced. This is supported by the fact that the management rejected an offer from Juventus for an immediate transfer in 2020 shortly before the end of the transfer deadline.”
“At the moment it’s about the exact salary for the transfer. Calhanoglu has the big advantage that he is a free agent.”
Falk has now also spoken to MilanNews.it where he has said:
“At the moment the player’s entourage is talking to Manchester United, but there is no agreement yet.”
