Calcio Mercato are reporting that Milan could put four of their defenders on the market in the January transfer window as they barely contribute to the current side. Mateo Musacchio has been sidelined with an injury for an extended period but is unlikely to get much playing time as Simon Kjaer, Alessio Romagnoli and Matteo Gabbia are ahead of him in the pecking order. Leo Duarte has not been impressive since he arrived and also picked up a long term injury which has hampered his progress. Andrea Conti similarly has struggled with injuries at right back and now Davide Calabria has stepped up and Diogo Dalot has held down the spot in the Europa League hence competition is intense at that spot. Pierre Kalulu had not featured since his arrival and is still young, he put on a solid display last night in the UEL and can make an argument to be the fourth defender for the moment.
The report indicates that Musacchio will probably leave on a bosman this summer or for a small free in the winter to a club either in Spain or Argentina. Duarte will probably be sold outright to a club in Brazil where he has some interest. Conti could be sold to another club in Serie A such as Parma but his wages are an issue. Kalulu could be allowed to head out on loan to further develop.
