AC Milan's Technical Director Paolo Maldini spoke to Sky Italia via MilanNews.it and discussed the potential renewals of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, trequartista Hakan Calhanoglu and striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic :
On contract renewals: “Every week is good, the contacts are there, the clarity is extreme. Let’s move forward on the various negotiations, there isn’t a week that can be better than the others.”
On Ibrahimovic: “I said that the expiring players were not only Donnarumma and Calhanoglu. I played until I was 41, every player is different from the others, Ibra is special.”
Gianluca di Marzio via MilanNews.it commented on the same saying:
“The speech on a possible renewal of Ibrahimovic, at this moment, is not a priority. The club are concentrating on other extensions, namely that of Donnarumma and Calhanoglu but in the last few hours there have been no great steps forward.”
Milan currently have all these three players on contracts expiring in the summer hence have some 8 months on them. If renewals are not agreed by January, the players are free to negotiate pre-agreements with other clubs.
