AC Milan took on Fiorentina at the San Siro for an afternoon fixture in Serie A. Milan continued their solid form with a determined performance putting the game to bed in the first half. Milan's captain Alessio Romagnoli hit back at critics with a header from a corner after Framck Kessie gently angled the ball his way. The centre back gestured to the cameras calling out his critics. Milan won a penalty shortly after as Alexis Saelemaekers was tackled in the box by Pezzella, Kessie took back his responsibility and coolly placed it into the back of the net. Milan would win another penalty as Theo Hernandez was pulled by Caceres but Kessie failed to convert the penalty as Dragowski dove to the same side as the first penalty. Milan had a number of chances as Calhanoglu hit the post twice, Rebic's touch let him down and Kessie/Diaz had a few dangerous shots. Milan faced two former players in Giacomo Bonaventura and Patrick Cutrone but neither disturbed the defence too much.
